I’m Niching Down
As a multi-faceted and multi-passionate human, sticking with a niche has always been an issue for me. I don’t know how many times I changed my major in college. I would get inspired by something and change my whole life on a whim. The pressure to stick with one thing especially when there are so many unknowns is scary. The details can be daunting.
I started Aligning Mom to write about things I love. I narrowed the blog down a little bit to health and wellness, which to be honest, is a fairly broad category. But I love these books, essential oils, homeopathic remedies, holistic things, manifestation challenges and hippie shit. It makes my life better and my family’s lives better. My intention was to share in hopes it would make other’s lives better also.
Since moving my blog to Substack, the insights from other creators has brought valuable perspectives and orderly advice.
In addition, a recent manifestation and activation session brought forth supporting inner clarity. I’m talking passion meets focus & structure.
Here’s what’s changing on AligningMom.com:
Content Focus
My current Substack bio states “Your semi-crunchy millennial mom bestie 😘 Tips, honest introspection, and actionable advice on spiritual growth, relationships, and holistic wellness.”
When I said multi-faceted and multi-passionate, I meant it. And you can tell by this bio statement. I haven’t been satisfied with it, but “started and imperfect” is better “perfect and never started.”
I will be updating this bio shortly.
Here’s the upcoming rendition: “Reviews on Health & Wellness modalities: books, apps, and products.”
It is subject to change. Let me know what you think about it. I’m going for clear and concise.
Review Format
When I first started blogging, I had my own Wordpress website. I geared my blog entries toward Pinterest. I was going for the “Power Title,” which usually included a number and a bold word to grab your attention. But I was stuck between “5 Must Have” whatevers and “Book Review of…”
I’ll be creating more review-style blog posts of a single item or service to bring the reader more depth with reasonable reading length. I’m sharing my honest thoughts and experiences on one thing at a time without either getting too shallow nor long-winded, which can happen with grouping products into one post.
While there may be instances where I implement grouping, it will be seldom and necessary.
Paid Journal Entries
These general reviews will be free. However, my journal entries that dive further into my personal life will be for paid subscriber who I like to call my Aligned Besties. It’s basically like taking me out for a latte or a matcha. It costs the same and we’ll get into those deeper stories. I’m talking raw, emotional, and some traumatic details that I only share with my best friends, siblings or therapist.
Side bar: I’m like a mermaid okay. I hate the shallow and crave the depths. I can only handle so much surface-level or small talk before I dissociate.
When I read a book or do a workshop, I journal my introspections. I’d like to share those spiritual & emotional experiences with my aligning besties that are willing to have that energetic exchange.
All in all, 2026 Aligning Mom substack is looking focused, connected and clear.
I’m excited to have more structure to share and create with.
Whether you subscribe to my writing for free or as a bestie, I’m so grateful for your support.
